梁燕城-耶利哥城倒塌之谜

之谜早年代乎?迟年代乎?


   在犹太民族历史中,出埃及是一个重大事件,但出埃及发生在那一年却是一个谜。一般在考古学上的探讨,有两个推想:一是「早年代」,约为公元前十五世纪,包括可能在图莫斯一世(Tuthmosis I 公元前一五四年)着靰着孟德二世(Amenhotep II 公元前一四一年)之间;另一是「迟年代」,为公元前十三世纪,大约可能在维马斯一世(Ramesses I公元前一三七年)至维马斯二世(Ramesses II 公元前一二二四年)之间。一般电影爱用着藀~代。

  其根据为在迦南城被攻破,在考古学上已有证据,此中有两个年代的遗迹。圣经记载犹太人出埃及后,在旷野流浪四十年,才攻入迦南,故由迦南地各城被毁的日期,往前推四十年而得知出埃及的日期。

  主张迟年代的证据,考古学发现在公元前一二五年至一一五年间,大批迦南城被攻毁,著名考古学家Albright 认为Beitin的遗迹,即是圣经中的伯特利(Bethel),被毁年代为公元前一二五年。若这些都是约书亚带领以色列人入迦南的进攻遗迹,将之推前四十年,那么出埃及年代约为公元前一二九年前后。

  反对迟年代的人,则认为圣经并无记载约书亚毁灭诸城,只毁了著名的耶利哥城(Jericho),艾城(Ai)及夏琐城(Hazor),而最近对耶利哥城的探索,有极富戏剧性的发现,符合早年代。



  历史事实?抑或神话?

  耶利哥城的崩毁,是西方家喻户晓的故事,此城守着迦南的门户,城墙高厚,守军高大壮健,是古代极强大的堡垒,犹太人虽为数达百万人,但却是乌合之众,无任何能力与技术攻城,但据圣经记载,犹太人围城行走七日着A然后一起吹号,上帝以神迹震毁城墙,使犹太军轻易攻入,而后能顺利攻入迦南。此中还有妓女喇合的故事,她因不堪耶利哥人的残暴,义助犹太探子,故大军入城时,没有摧毁喇合的房子。

  犹太人数千年来都在传颂这故事,这是历史事实?还是神话故事?

  一九七至一九九年,考古学家SellinWatzinger在耶利哥发掘出两重古城墙,外城六呎厚,内城十二呎厚。一九三年考古学家Garstang详细考察,发现两城墙之间充满碎砖石,且有大火烧毁的痕迹,更发现外城墙向外倒塌,而内城墙却向内倒塌,那是奇异的事,若因着地震,城墙应向外倒,若是攻城,城墙应往内倒,何以城墙一向外,一向内倒呢?有点不可思议,而他鉴定年代为公元前一四○○年,与早出埃及年代吻合,似真为犹太人着玼}之耶利哥城,但之后在五十年代,考古学家Kenyon再考察后,认为找不到证据证明此城倒塌于公元前一四○○年,却将其年代定为公元前一五五年,于是又反对了前说,认为此城之倒毁与犹太人入迦南无关。



  耶利哥城墙两面倒塌

  由于耶利哥城两重城墙分向内外两面倒塌,与圣经所描述的神迹吻合,很多专家都极兴奋。但因Kenyon鉴定年代为公元前一五五年,则又不符合其它迦南城如夏琐城(Hazor)被毁,令专家又失望了数十年。但到八十年代有戏剧性突破。

  一九九年中东考古学家胡特(Bryant G. Wood)考察耶利哥城及根据新的出土资料,批判了Kenyon的结论,由于她死于一九七八年,未读到有关新的鉴定资料出版,在一九八二年及一九八三年出版两册当地的陶片资料所着狻着的年代,与她所鉴定的不一致,那是公元前一四○○年前后。

  胡特指出Kenyon只在一极小范围内发掘,因找不到当时流行的Cyprus陶器,故认为必为较早期时间,这是有误的,因她考察的范围并非商业要道,找不到很正常。但在其它地方却找到了新证据。

  其前的Garstang寻找到一埃及的甲虫型雕(Scarabs),它的年代一般迟于公元前一五五年,而刚好在早出埃及年代的图莫斯第三时期,正用甲虫型雕来刻上其名字。耶利哥城的甲虫型雕可推测其年代在公元前一四○○至一三四年左右,与陶器的检定年代一致。



  考古证据与圣经吻合

  根据胡特的考察与研究,他指出考古学所挖掘出的耶利哥城,全部与圣经所描述的一致,可综合为八点:

  一、此城有的强大城墙,及其被毁年代均与约书亚记载一致。

  二、此城全被火所烧毁,符合约书亚记六章24节。

  三、其城堡围墙同时倒塌,符合约书亚记七章12节。

  四、城中找到大量榖物,显明其在春天收获期被毁符合约书亚记二章6节,三章15节及五章10节。

  五、大量榖物存在显示其在很短期内被攻破,符合约书亚记六章1520节。

  六、榖物没有被抢掠,符合约书亚记七章1617节。

  七、居民无机会带食物逃亡,符合约书亚记六章1节。

  八、耶利哥城被毁后,被遗弃一段长时间,符合约书亚记六章26节。

  似乎这一切证据,均与圣经记载一致,而最奇怪的,是其内外城墙分向两面倒塌,内墙向内倒,外墙向外倒,此属不可思议之处。

  这也成为一谜,两墙分向内外两面倒塌,难道是因犹太人吹号的声波所毁?抑或真是一神迹?

  胡特博士云:「多年来考古学者们认为耶利哥的故事不外为神话传说,然而当考古证据得到恰当的解释后,我们发觉事实正奇异地与圣经故事吻合。

Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed 开除: 这里不准有智慧

Intelligent Design (I.D.智创论) proponent Ben Stein's Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed embodies one of the most gutsy and audacious political documentaries to come down the pike in decades, and anyone with atheistic and/or evolutionary beliefs will almost certainly feel infuriated by it.
Stein uses the majority of his screen time not to establish the idea that an underhanded conspiracy exists among liberal educators to spread militant atheism and Darwinism among learners. Instead, he demonstrates the fact that such agendas are now out, about, and fashionable. And he pulls off that goal adroitly and convincingly, with no sleight of hand. In one of the film's most intriguing interviews, Stein visits Eugenie Scott, director of the National Center for Science Education, whose stated goal it is to "stamp out" intelligent design wherever it crops up in academia, by maneuvering to have pro-I.D. educators censured or dismissed. During the interview, she turns around and proudly displays a bulletin board with colored push-pins inserted wherever the said goal has been effectuated. (This moment achieves greater emotional impact by arriving, in the film, after Stein interviews a series of professors humiliated, emotionally broken, and bereft of their jobs thanks to the woman's doings -- most of whom are not even self-professed creationist advocates or religionists, but who simply acknowledged the concept of I.D. once or twice in peer-reviewed collegiate papers).




Unfortunately, these sorts of interviews take up far too much screen time during the film's 90 minutes, and quickly outwear their welcome. Stein could increase the dramatic impact and audience interest in the material if he used screen time to scientifically explore the concept of intelligent design as it stands opposed to Darwinian evolution. This should happen via a detailed and objective discussion of the probability of one versus the other, and the evidence that suggests planned schematics for biological structures in lieu of random occurrences (and vice versa). The filmmaker does incorporate this material to a small degree, but limits such apologetics to one sequence of around ten minutes or so. While that sequence is onscreen, it captivates the audience, but the film then returns once more to discussions with atheistic educators and falls into the trap of exhaustively repeating itself. As the film stands, Stein is preaching to the converted in lieu of helping the unfamiliar explore the assets and weaknesses of one system of thought versus the other. As such, the film partially represents a wasted opportunity.




One can also take issue with a couple of stylistic choices that Stein makes which render the film somewhat difficult to watch and appreciate. The most pronounced involves his decision to interpolate old film clips into much of the material (often during the middle of interviews) during the first half of the film. The seriocomic, often campy nature of the clips (pulled from such films as The Wizard of Oz and Planet of the Apes) both undercuts and seriously cheapens the interview material to an overwhelming degree. Moreover, for some unknown reason, director Nathan Frankowski and cinematographer Ben Huddleston opt to film interviews with the heads severely cropped, which will invariably distract viewers; whatever the motivation, it makes the film look cheap, sloppy, and unpolished.




The second half of the film delivers an emotional wallop, though, in spite of the above shortcomings. It feels most compelling when Stein boldly establishes a connection between the scientific Darwinism of contemporary America and the social Darwinism of the Nazis, with their unfettered and unapologetic propagation of eugenic breeding to accelerate natural selection. On a spiritual level, Stein also engages in a haunting and amazing discussion with an atheist philosopher, Richard Dawkins (the author of a book entitled The God Delusion) who, though an outspoken proponent of Darwinian evolution, eventually admits on-camera that Intelligent Design is feasible and viable.




Overall, whether one agrees or disagrees with Stein's central theses, the film will certainly provoke a great deal of discussion and introspection about intelligent design and the limits of free speech per se. In the future, however, Stein seriously needs to rethink his strategy for presenting information and the stylistic approach of his film projects, and to associate himself with co-writers and a director who exhibit defter skills behind the camera. If he can do so, his gutsy and relentless inquisition will lead him to scale even loftier and more provocative ideological heights than this. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

DARWIN'S DILEMMA: The Mystery Of The Cambrian Fossil Record 达尔文的两难:寒武纪化石大爆炸




The debate over Darwin will come to the Smithsonian Institution’s west coast affiliate on October 25th, with the premiere of Darwin’s Dilemma: The Mystery of the Cambrian Fossil Record, a new intelligent design film which challenges Darwinian evolution. Darwin’s Dilemma will be screened at 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 25th in the IMAX Theater at the California Science Center, a specially designated Smithsonian affiliation. On October 3rd of 2007 in Birmingham, Alabama, Professor Richard Dawkins and his Oxford University colleague Professor John Lennox engaged in a lively debate over what is arguably the most critical question of our time: the existence of God. The debate centered on Dawkins' views as expressed in his best-seller, The God Delusion, and their validity over and against the Christian faith. Both presenters agreed to the format and topics of discussion.

Richard Dawkins FRS is the Charles Simonyi Professor of the Public Understanding of Science at the University of Oxford. He is the author of nine books: The Selfish Gene, The Extended Phenotype, The Blind Watchmaker, River Out of Eden, Climbing Mount Improbable, Unweaving the Rainbow, A Devil's Chaplain, The Ancestor's Tale and The God Delusion. He is a Fellow of both the Royal Society and the Royal Society of Literature.

John Lennox is Reader in Mathematics at the University of Oxford and Fellow in Mathematics and Philosophy of Science at Green College, University of Oxford. He holds doctorates from Oxford (D.Phil.), Cambridge (Ph.D.), and the University of Wales (D.Sc.) and an MA in Bioethics from the University of Surrey. Professor Lennox has weighed in on the science-religion debate with a new book, God's Undertaker: Has Science Buried God?

我们为什么要信耶稣?

耶稣基督是谁?
您大概听说过『耶稣』这个名字吧?也许您也念过有关他的故事。但是您知道耶稣基督到底是谁吗?好像现今有许多人弄不清楚耶稣基督到底是谁。连耶稣基督活在世上的时候,人们对于『耶稣基督是谁』这个问题也有一些错误的观念。耶稣到了该撒利亚,腓立比的境内,就问门徒说人说我人子是谁,他们说有人说是施浸的约翰。有人说是以利亚。又有人说是耶利米,或是先知里的一位。耶稣说,你们说我是谁。西门彼得回答说,你是基督,是永生神的儿子(太16:13-16)。显然的,那个时候的人跟现今的人对于『耶稣基督是谁』这个问题,他们的意见都不一致。耶稣真是神的儿子,还是他只是一个人?圣经的答案是他真是神的儿子!
许多中国人认为耶稣是一个西方人,所以他们觉得他和他的信仰不适于中国人。但是耶稣是一个犹太人,而且犹太人本来住在以色列。以色列属于东方,因此耶稣是东方人!因为他的教会在耶路撒冷开始,所以我们也可以说他的信仰属于东方。基于这些观念,请您用几分钟的时间看看下面有关『耶稣基督是谁』这个问题的资料。
耶稣是神的儿子
有好多人说耶稣是一位有道德的好人,但是他们同时否认他是神的儿子。耶稣是一位有道德的好人而不是神的儿子,可能会这样吗?不可能!为什么?在他的生活中,他一再地宣称他是神的儿子。他也告诉人,他们相信他是神的儿子,他们才有天堂的指望。如果耶稣总是告诉人他是神的儿子,但事实上他并不是神的儿子,那么他就是大骗子。假如他不是神的儿子,那么就有好几百次,他都是对人说谎话。像这样的一个大骗子,一再地对人撒谎,可能会是一个有道德的好人吗?显然地不是!这样看来,耶稣真是神的儿子,我们才可以称他为有道德的好人。耶稣宣称他是神的儿子。有什么凭据能证明他所宣称的呢?
一.耶稣基督为一个童女所生。在历史上,只有耶稣为童女所生。这是空前绝后的一次。祂的母亲是童女玛利亚,可是祂父亲是神自己。马太福音记载了这个奇妙的事实。耶稣基督降生的事,记载在下面。祂母亲玛利亚已经许配了约瑟,还没有迎娶,玛利亚就从圣灵怀了孕。她丈夫约瑟是个义人,不愿意明明地羞辱她,想要暗暗地把她休了。正思念这事的时候,有主的使者向他梦中显现说,大卫的子孙约瑟,不要怕,只管娶过你的妻子玛利亚来。因她所怀的孕,是从圣灵来的。她将要生一个儿子。你要给他起名叫耶稣。因祂要将自己的百姓从罪恶中救出来。这一切的事成就,是要应验主藉先知所说的话,说,必有童女怀孕生子,人要称祂的名为以马内利。(以马内利翻出来,就是神与我们同在。)约瑟醒了,起来,就遵着主使者的吩咐,把妻子娶过来。只是没有和她同房,等她生了儿子,就给祂起名叫耶稣。(太1:18-25)只有神的儿子才能这样出生!
二.耶稣无罪的生活也证明祂是神的儿子。除了耶稣以外,世人都犯过罪,但是祂在33年的生活中,从来没有犯过罪。你们蒙召原是为此。因基督也为你们受过苦,给你们留下榜样,叫你们跟随他的脚踪行。他并没有犯罪,口里也没有诡诈。(彼得前书2:21-22“”(来4:14-15)。虽然耶稣受过撒旦的试探,但是他从来没有犯罪。因为耶稣无罪的生活,我们应该做一个什么样的结论呢?耶稣一定是神的儿子,正如他所宣称的。
三.耶稣所行的神迹和他所做的事情,又证明他是神的儿子。耶稣说,“”(约5:36)。一位犹太人的官对耶稣说,“”(约3:2)。实在地说神与耶稣同在。耶稣行神迹,每次都成功。其实在第一世纪的时候,连他的仇敌也承认他行了很多真正的神迹。他的仇敌说道耶稣的时候,说,“”(约11:47)。耶稣行神迹的目的何在?“”(约20:30-31)。耶稣说行的神迹有好些记载在马太、马可、路加、约翰福音上,但是他行了那么多神迹,所以不是每一件都记在圣经上。他行了什么样的神迹呢?他让瞎子看见,哑巴说话,瘸腿的走路。他赶鬼,医治各样的病,平静风浪,在海上走路。有一次他以五个饼,两条鱼让五千人吃饱。他三次叫人从死里复活。无疑地,有这种大能的,必定是神的儿子。
四,耶稣从死里复活,这个事实也证明他是神的儿子。关于基督,保罗说,按圣善的灵说,因从死里复活,以大能显明是神的儿子(罗14)。在公元后30年左右,在耶路撒冷城外耶稣被罗马兵丁钉在十字架上,然后被埋葬放在石洞里。人用大石头封住墓门口,并且为了避免人来偷耶稣的身体,罗马的兵丁在墓门前看守。但是第三天耶稣从死里复活了。基督照圣经所说,为我们的罪死了。而且埋葬了。又照圣经所说,第三天复活了(林前1534)。有什么样的凭证能够证明他真正地从死里复活呢?最有力的证据是在他复活之后有500多人亲眼看见过他。并且显给矶法看。然后显给十二使徒看。后来一时显给五百多弟兄看,其中一大半到如今还在,却也有已经睡了的。以后显给雅各看。再显给众使徒看。末了也显给我看(林前1558)。耶稣的死,埋葬,和复活都是历史的事实。为全人类,这三个事实都记载在圣经上。只有神能够从死里复活。因此,必然的结论是耶稣基督是神的儿子。可能您会问:他复活以后发生了什么事?答案是耶稣复活之后他好几次把自己显现给他的门徒看,而且,继续教导他的使徒40天。这40天之后他升天了,一直到现在他在那里坐在神的右边。
五,关于耶稣我们必要问的一个重要问题是:神说耶稣基督是谁?关于耶稣,神说:这是我的爱子,我所喜悦的(太317175)。神是不说谎的,所以神说耶稣是他的儿子,这话是真实可靠的。一切证据都显示出耶稣是神的儿子。那就等于说耶稣是神。天父一切的神性、特性,耶稣都具备了。我们已说过耶稣为童女所生,所以他在世上的时候,是百分之百的神,同时也是百分之百的人。无疑地,他是神的独生子。
耶稣是世人的救主
为什么世人需要一位救主呢?救主把我们从什么里救出来呢?这两个问题的答案都是。可能您会问:罪是什么?人对的观念常常与神对的观念很不一样。有许多人认为如果他们没有杀过人,没有偷过东西,虐待妻儿等等的事情,那么他们就没有犯过罪。但是圣经上对这个情形是怎么说的呢?圣经上说凡犯罪的,就是违背律法。违背律法就是罪(约一34)。这是说到哪一个律法呢?一定是神的律法。因此,罪就是违背神的律法。在每一个时代,当人违背神的律法时,他们就犯罪。因为现今的人都在基督的律法(亲手约圣经)之下,所以当现今的人违背神的律法,他们就犯罪。这是因为在信仰上,圣经是我们唯一的标准。可能您在觉得您没有犯过罪,可是圣经上很清楚的说因为世人都犯了罪,亏缺了神的荣耀(罗323)。我们若说自己无罪,便是自欺,真里不在我们心里了(约一18)。所以,事实上我们大家都是罪人!我们每一个人都作过错事,说过错话,或者有过坏思想。
诚实的人都会承认自己作过这样的错事,但是重要的是如何处理我们的罪。我们犯过罪,这个很要紧吗?非常要紧!人犯罪的时候会有极坏的恶果。我们的罪影响到我们与神的关系。其实我们的罪使我们与神隔绝。但你们的罪孽使你们与神隔绝,你们的罪恶使他掩面不听你们(赛592)。保罗也说过,因为罪的工价乃是死(罗623)。我们犯罪的结果就是属灵的死:意思是说我们的罪让我们与神隔离。我们没有神的话我们就没有指望!什么能够根绝这恐怖的情形呢?因为神的公义,人犯罪的时候应受刑罚。因为我们的罪,我们每一个人应该在地狱里受永远的刑罚。但是因为神是怜悯的,他给一个避免这种刑罚的方法。因为神爱我们,又因为他知道世人都需要一位救主,所以他派他的儿子耶稣基督到世间来替我们罪人受刑罚。请注意:神自己变成人,就是耶稣基督,耶稣基督(就是百分之百的神百分之百的人)替我们死在十字架上。他被挂在木头上亲身担当了我们的罪,使我们既然在罪上死,就得以在义上活。因他受的鞭伤,你们便得医治(彼前224)。圣经好消息是,因我们还软弱的时候,基督就按所定的日期为罪人死、、、惟有基督在我们还作罪人的时候为我们死,神的爱就在此向我们显明了(罗568)。
人类籍着耶稣基督才能够与神和好。耶稣基督为什么来到这个世界上呢?他的使命是什么呢?他自己说,人子来,为要寻找拯救失丧的人。(路1910)。保罗也说过:基督耶稣降世,为要拯救罪人。这话是可信的,是十分可佩服的(提前115)。人自己不能解决罪的问题或是作什么来获得救恩。人类的智慧、教育、道德、行善、永远不能洗掉人类的罪。只有耶稣的血能够完成这种需要。因为神是公义,也是怜恤的神,在他的计划中,为了拯救罪人,耶稣必须死在十字架上。为了给所有的人得救的机会,耶稣就把他的宝血流出来,请记住:按着神的计划,他只藉着基督的血拯救人。我们藉这爱子的血,得蒙救赎,过犯得以赦免,乃是照他丰富的恩典(弗17)。耶稣基督是谁?他是世人唯一的救主。在历史上有许多伟大的领袖和无数有道德的人。但是只有神的儿子,耶稣基督,能够把我们从罪恶里救出来。
耶稣是我们将来的审判者
我们都了解我们的肉体不是永远的。有一天我们都会死,这是无法逃避的事。按着圣经上的道理,当人死时,他们的灵魂就离开肉体到阴间去。(阴间是个人死后,灵魂暂时居住的地方)。灵魂在那边等候末日的审判。按着定命,人人都有一死,死后且有审判(来927)。所以我们人类都会受审判,可是谁是末日的审判者呢?按着新约上的道理有一天耶稣会再来。那时候他会作审判者。我们的审判者为什么是他呢?因为神拣选他作我们的审判者。世人蒙昧无知的时后,神并不监察,如今却吩咐各处的人都要悔改。因为他已经定了日子,要藉着他所设立的人,按公义审判天下。并且叫他从死里复活,给万人作可信的凭据(徒173031)。耶稣自己也说过父不审判什么人,乃将审判的事全交与子(约522)。请记住:耶稣第一次来是作我们的救主,但是他第二次再来是作我们的审判者。也许您认为耶稣不会审判您,所以您不关心末日的审判。您不要自欺!每一个曾住过这世界的人都会受耶稣的审判。因为我们众人,必要在基督台前显露出来,叫各人按着本身所行的,或善或恶受报(林后510)。
耶稣审判我们以后会发生什么事呢?说到人类将来的命运,只有两个可能。耶稣审判我们以后,我们会上天堂(永生)或者下地狱(永刑)。这些人要往永刑里去。那些义人要往永生里去(太2546)。我们永远的命运决定于什么呢?我们上天堂或下地狱决定于什么呢?是决定于我们在世上的行为,叫各人按着本身所行的,或善或恶受报(林后510)。审判我们的标准是耶稣基督的教训。耶稣说弃绝我不领受我话的人,有审判他的。就是我所讲的道,在末日要审判他(约1248)。因此,耶稣审判我们的时候,他会把我们的行为和他的话语作一个比较,看看我们的行为是不是合乎他的旨意。那么谁可以进天堂呢?耶稣说凡称呼我主阿,主阿的人,不能都进天国。惟独遵行我天父旨意的人,才能进去(太721)。
耶稣基督是谁呢?因为您已经念过这个小册子,您应该知道答案是什么。他是神的儿子。他来到这世上,成为我们的救主。他为我们死,三天后从死里复活,后来又回到天堂去。有一天他会再来审判所有的人。圣经所强调的事实之一就是在耶稣再来以前,人人都要准备好。如何准备好呢?我们籍着耶稣才能去天堂。他说,我就是道路,真理,生命。若不藉着我。没有人能到父那里去(约146)。只有耶稣的血能够洗净我们的罪而使我们准备好。重要的是:耶稣和血什么时候洗净我们的罪呢?圣经上的答案是:当我们遵守神的旨意而成为一个基督徒时,耶稣的血才会洗净我们的罪。您如何成为一个基督徒呢?您必须先听神的话语:可见信道是从听道来的,听道是从基督的话来的(罗1017)。您必须相信神,人非有信就不能得神的喜悦。因为到神面前来的人,必须信有神,且信他赏赐那寻求他的人(来116)。而且必须相信耶稣是他的儿子,耶稣说,所以我对你们说,你们要死在罪中,你们若不信我是基督,必要死在罪中(约824)。然后您必须悔改您的罪:世人蒙昧无知的时后,神并不监察,如今却吩咐各处的人都要悔改(徒1730)。你也必须承认耶稣是神的儿子:凡在人面前认我的,我在我天上的父面前,也必认他。凡在人面前不认我的,我在我天上的父面前,也必不认他(太103233)。最后,为了成为一个基督徒,您必须受浸使您的罪得赦:彼得说,你们各人要悔改,奉耶稣基督的名受洗,叫你们的罪得赦,就必领受所赐的圣灵(徒238)。您这样做,神就会把您加入他的教会。主将得救的人,天天加给他们(徒247)。可见,您成为一个基督徒,才能在耶稣再来以前真正地准备好!

Unlocking The Mystery Of Life破解生命的秘密




Unlocking the Mystery of Life(UMOL) a 58-minute science program exploring what DNA reveals about the origin of life documents how scientists are abandoning naturalistic explanations for the origin of genetic information and looking to theories of design for answers.

In almost every scientific discipline there is new found evidence that supports the theory of intelligent design. For instance, in molecular biology, the presence of information encoded along the DNA molecule has suggested the activity of a prior designing intelligence and UMOL showcases the progress design scientists are making in this field.

To date UMOL has aired in every top 20 market in the country including PBS stations in California, Colorado, Florida, Maryland, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington state and Washington, DC.

UMOL follows the efforts of contemporary scientists who are advancing a powerful, but controversial, idea -- the scientific theory of "intelligent design.
